We had been with family all day and were looking forward to a quiet meal within walking distance of the hotel. Unfortunately this was quieter than we expected considering the fabulous location essentially right on the beach but there were only three tables with guests We decided to meet some friends for dinner last night and all I can say is that chef Kenny never disappoints. First visit to this restaurant and will not be the last. The perlot was very good, the alligator gumbo was just spicy enough and Happy Hour was great with some really amazing moonshine drinks.

Expected to triple throughout the American marketplace in a span of five years, the driving principles behind the modern food hall are authenticity, quality and celebration of food culture. These principles tend to be the complete opposite of the traditional American food court, which focus on fast-food mantras of familiarity, predictability and mass production. The most successful food halls also tend to contain interactive layouts by hosting live entertainment and social events, which allows consumers to experience the space in a variety of ways. Throughout his career, Gilbert has traveled the world, staging in some of the top restaurants in Japan, Spain, France and the Caribbean. Although there are variations in size, most food halls range between 10, and 50, square feet. The mini food hall, typically 10, square feet or less, is a relatively new trend in the industry that has emerged since

Okay, that maybe a little too far, but let a man live! I had the opportunity to dine at this establishment with two other Jacksonville food bloggers. During the visit we were able to learn a lot from the way Chef Kenny operates his establishment, from the meticulous ways he trains his staff to the different ingredients he uses to put ordinary dishes into a category of its own. The restaurant sits right on the beach and is connected to two of his other restaurants. The interior of this restaurant is amazing with its high ceilings, an open kitchen, and a view that overlooks the water. The first dish that was ordered was the Cast Iron Sizzling Turnips. You have Turnips cooked in a lemon garlic butter and topped with crushed peanuts.

Three floors plus an outside bar. So it was only logical to me that a beach trip was in order, not only to gather information for my article but sit and chat with my friend about his latest undertaking. You can spend an evening with us and experience it all. Sunday 4 pm to 7 pm, which includes half off all of our specialty cocktails, draft beers, and house wines. Yes, we have several.

Both focus on modernized yet traditional Southern fare and are conveniently located inside a new food hall space in Jacksonville Beach. Back-to-back hurricanes that year did not deter Gilbert who prevailed to not only see both restaurants survive and thrive but also move on to new projects.
